BYD, China’s EV giant, says it can now charge a car in 5 minutes—matching the time it takes to fill a gas tank. Their new Han L sedan promises 249 miles of range in that time, blowing Tesla’s 170 miles in 15 minutes out of the water.
BYD’s stock jumped, hitting a $158 billion market value. Meanwhile, Tesla’s struggling with battery delays, falling sales, and Musk’s distractions (thanks, Trump).
Oh, and BYD’s EVs start at just $9,700. They’re also rolling out advanced self-driving features, because why not?
